farmers' market

Waterford Farmers' Market is open from 9am to 1pm on saturdays from the last week in June to the end of October. The market is located on the corner of Route 1 (Boston Post Road) and Rope Ferry Road at Waterford Town Hall parking lot across from the high school. Access is from Rope Ferry Road and plenty of parking is available.

Ecoscapes Environmental Landscaping has a tent set up to promote community awareness of environmental issues, with an added focus on the identification and control of invasive plant species. In an attempt to increase the understanding and use of native and deer resistant plants in residential landscaping, we provide examples to both view and purchase. We also have examples of butterfly attracting plants as well as bird attracting plants, imagine hummingbirds and butterflies circling your home and perching at your kitchen window. All of our plants are locally grown in Connecticut. With annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees available, you should be able to find something interesting to add to your landscape. Each week we will bring in a different selection of plants for you to observe and learn about. One week may be a selection of ornamental grasses, another week native color spots, and another week evergreens for example. If there is a particular plant you would like, we also take orders and can deliver them directly to your home. Samples of locally made mulches, compost, and playground chips are also available for inspection and delivery.
